When we first moved to Charleston, 17 years ago, we lived in Mt. Pleasant. Not long after we moved here, one of our cats swallowed a needle and thread, necessitating a trip to an emergency vet. We had to take our cat to a regular vet for follow-up care, and chose Animal Medical Center because it was close to our apartment. It was a very lucky choice, because the vets and the care our cats received at AMC were wonderful. Dr. Senf helped us through the care and eventual passing of one of our cats from lymphoma, and the staff were always excellent during regular visits. In fact, we liked them so much that when we moved 30 miles away, we continued to take our cats to AMC for 13 years. Dr. Briley was fantastic and helpful when a kitten we adopted turned out to have ringworm; Dr. Forcier was caring and compassionate when we lost a cat to thyroid cancer; and both of them guided us through the care of another of our cats who suffered from Chronic Renal Failure. Eventually, we decided it would be better to have a vet closer to home, but if we sill lived in Mt. Pleasant, we would definitely continue to take our pets there. A little bit more expensive than other vets I have used in the area, but worth it for the level of care that is provided.
