The Pets for the Elderly Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, helps pay the fees to participating animal shelters throughout the United States for senior citizens (age 60 and over) who adopt a companion dog or cat from a participating shelter — including pre-adoption veterinary exams and spay/neuter, if part of the adoption fee.

Since the Program’s inception, Especially for Pets has raised $306,068 for charity.

Launched in June 2010 in Venice, CA, VCA Charities' Pet Food Pantry provides pet food to the clients of food pantries. It is co-sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition. The VCA Charities Pet Food Pantry allows pets to get the necessary proper nutrition to stay healthy.
