PAWS Atlanta has a limited amount of space for homeless cats and dogs at our shelter, and there are many more than we can house needing rescue. Our foster program allows us to rescue more animals, and it also gives us the opportunity to better socialize and learn about the pets in our care before they go up for adoption. Our pets need fostering for as little as 2-4 weeks or as long as several months. PAWS Atlanta provides the medical care, food, and supplies. You provide the love and shelter! To take part in the PAWS Atlanta Foster Program you must submit a completed application to and then set up a home inspection. We appreciate you helping us save more pets!

These pets are ready for a new forever home. Meet them at our Adpotion Center located at 3000 Gibson St., Bakersfield, CA 93308. The Adoption Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Each pet receives excellent veterinary care while being socialized at our shelter or in loving foster homes. Please take a look at our current adoptable pets and fill out an application to get started.We do not guarantee that pets seen on our web page will be available to adopt when you arrive at the animal shelter. The Riverside County Department of Animal Services does not reserve pets for adoption by telephone or e-mail. You must come to the shelter to adopt an animal and refer to the pets Animal Identification Number (AID). Please bring a leash or carrier with you if you intend to adopt a pet.
