Like I always do, I took to Google to see if there was something else that I could use for the carpet. I ended up finding recipe to make my own dry foam Kirby shampoo. There was only one issue though, no ammonia to be found. Anywhere. We search high and low at all sorts of stores, but for whatever reason, no one had ammonia. I suppose it was for the better, because we were cleaning in a house full of kids.

Plus, every Avalir system comes complete with the portable carpet shampooer attachment which can be used for cleaning stairs.

Really impressive!!! I used All Free And Clear clothes soap in place of Tide and Purple Power in place of Awesome because that is what I have. This stuff took stains out that remained after 3 carpet cleanings with the regular carpet soaps for our home shampooers. This recipe took every stain out. Even petroleum based. Thank you very much for this recipe and keep up the good work.

ZEP 128 oz. Carpet Extractor Shampoo-ZUCEC128 - The Home Depot

Shampooing a carpet is a great way to get a much deeper clean than vacuuming, and it extends the life of your carpet. Remove furniture from the room, vacuum carefully, and spot treat stains before you shampoo. Fill the machine with the proper amounts of soap and water. Run the shampooer in a pattern across the room, making sure to go slowly. Pay attention to when the dirty water tank is full. After you shampoo, it is good to run the machine once again with cold water and no soap. Always let the carpet dry completely before putting furniture back and walking on it.

While I won't say everything in my personal shampoo recipe, combining 1 gallon white vinegar, 1 large bottle of lemon juice, and 1 pint of witch hazel will make a super effective carpet cleaner that is safe for use in commercial or home shampooers. Also, sprinkling baking soda on the carpet before shampooing will remove the worst odors and boost the above mixture's cleaning properties. Below is a before and after photo. Bonnet cleaning is simply an adaptation of hard floor spray buffing to carpets. A rotary shampoo buffer is used, but instead of using a brush, a thick round pad is used. The carpet is sprayed with a solution and/or the pads are soaked in the solution and squeezed lightly before being placed under the spinning head. This spinning pad is then expected to absorb all the cleaner and soil from the carpet.
