The festivities get underway at 1:30 as the legacy of Gloria Barinholtz is honored along with the many volunteers and the team at Wilmette Pet that made this all a reality. At the event, Adopt-A-Pet will also host their Tree of Hope Lighting Ceremony. For every donation to Adopt-A-Pet of $5 or more, an ornament of a homeless pet will be placed on the Tree of Hope.Hi, my name is Bopper. I was just bopping around town when Animal Control saw me and picked me up and said I didn’t belong out on the streets. They brought me to Adopt-A-Pet and now I’m bopping around Wilmette Pet Center trying to find a forever home. As you can see, I’m a strikingly North Shore residents thinking about picking up a cute fluffy rabbit as an Easter gift this year may want to think twice, according to Wilmette Pet Center which is holding a Rabbit Amnesty April 1 through Easter Sunday. The store has suspended all rabbit sales during the Easter season for the past four or five years.
